Very dumb moment as a teenager with my first boyfriend. He didn’t live too far away from me, but did not have the blessing of mum and dad so would have to sneak out at night to see him. On my way back at home, in winter, at around half three in the morning there is a very long stretch of road between two fields with no street lamps. Just as I’m about to walk down it, a man comes up behind me and says ‘finally, a friend.’ I immediately back up and leg it into a field armed with nothing but my pyjamas, trainers, a raincoat and umbrella. I try to ring my bf but he never picks up or answers my frantic messages. The guy disappears into the dark and I lose track of him quickly, but after about 15 minutes of shitting myself I decide I need to get home. But as I round the corner of the field, he’s stood under the first street lamp at the other end of the road, waiting. I was convinced my rape and/or murder would follow. I wait in the cover of the dark just watching him until about 40 minutes later he gives up and walks away. Never forgotten how close I was to something very bad happening
