the summer before eighth grade, my family and i went on vacation to Europe. we were at the airport for our flight back home, checking our bags and such, and we had to show our boarding passes in order to move forward. earlier, at the car, i had offered to take a bag or two from my mom since she seemed to be carrying a handful. she said she was fine, and i didn't want to be annoying so we just continued on. back to checking our bags, my mom's rustling through one of her bags to find the boarding passes, and she gets frustrated. she angrily shoves a bag at me and tells me to hold it. i say quietly, "i thought you said you didn't need help". she whips around, and yells, "you're being such a b!tch!!!". there were at least 100 people in the room with us, and it went dead silent. they all looked at us and i just wanted to disappear. looking back on it, i probably shouldn't have commented, but i felt terrible, especially in front of tons of people.
