What professional language translation service have you used for your game?

Hi!

I recently started a game translation and localization startup specializing in the Brazilian market called Lor Localization Services.

Brazil is currently one of the largest and fastest-growing game markets in the world and shows no signs of slowing down. Still, there are a lot of games that have not been translated into Portuguese. We want make games more accessible to the Brazilian market and help Brazilian gamers enjoy more games from around the world. We are also here to help Brazilian developers reach the English-speaking market and show the rest of the world what’s being created in Brazil. We are comprised of professional translators who are also avid gamers with backgrounds in linguistics and literature, who live in Brazil but have lived in or are originally from English-speaking countries. We want to cut out the middleman agencies, working directly with developers to translate and localize games in a way that preserves the quality and spirit of the original while making it not just linguistically, but also culturally accessible to the target audience at a better price than big agencies can offer.

We’re in the very early stages and are looking to establish ourselves. Though we are professionals with years of translation experience, we don’t have much to show for it in the gaming industry yet. Therefore, right now, we are looking for a new indie game (for any platform: PC, mobile, web, console) to translate in exchange for nothing more than being able to attach our name to the translation and present it as a sample of our work. For us, this would be a win-win situation as we can work toward establishing a portfolio and help an independent developer expand their audience.

If you’re interested or have any questions, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us by sending me a message on reddit or emailing me at [email protected].
