On the American identity.
The point of society is to increase the quality of life for humans. To raise the bar - the standard of living for everyone. Not to make you happy, objectively en mass that’s impossible to guarantee and turns us into creatures of impulse; but to raise the bar for quality of life on earth. That’s why humans made up laws and decided to agree that paper has value. The American version of society means we include everyone. Sure society is make believe but by agreeing to “play” our version we ALL get rights and protection and an improved standard of living. So stop fucking around and vote for people that actually raise the bar for everyone. Cause we are behind the ball - even if I was rich I’d be pissed. By now we were supposed to be in flying cars with force fields and we’re stuck on civil and sexual rights, corporate greed, and potentially falling into fascism? REALLY?
Accept three things must remain true for us to raise the bar:
1) we need the big stick. It sucks to admit but look at Ukraine and how much China is spending on military. It’s a reality, we need the big stick. So if we gotta have it, how are we making it smarter? Newer? Safer? More guaranteed? Adaptable? And so on. We know they are coming for the throne, keep raising the bar.
2) Religions: you don’t get a say in how we raise the bar. There’s too many of you and none of you can 100% prove you’re right. So until you can actually definitively prove what you believe is factually measurably right and real beyond a shadow of a doubt, you can recommend whatever lifestyles you want, but you don’t get to make the rules.
3) the only thing that will save us from ourselves is education. The fact #2 is on here should make this one clear. The education system in our country was built pre internet. Our kids are being raised online - even more so because of the fucking pandemic, and the internet is still kinda the Wild West. We need RADICAL early education reform or our dopamine addicted antisocial moron spawn will fucking destroy us all. Education needs more money than it’s ever needed in the history of our country. It’s how you combat both radical sides. It’s how you guarantee the biggest stick. It’s how you invent cool shit like the internet to keep raising the bar.
The era of America celebrating herself and all the money she has made must end. More money than has ever been passed from one generation to the next in the history of human beings is about to change hands in the states. What we decide to do with what we inherit in the US will define the future of human beings. Either by crashing this fucker and watchin it all burn, or by actually raising the bar.
