What’s a huge red flag when meeting new people?

There was a guy I was on a date with. I met him on Facebook and I used to really like the guy. He was funny and smart. He had lots of friends and seemed like a nice guy and I had the biggest crush ever. He knew that. And I was so nervous. So when I acted awkwardly, he was pissed. I wasn't rude or anything. Just shy. He said "you have no social skills". I was shocked to hear that. He wasn't even teasing me. He meant it. I was struggling to keep up the conversation but it was only because I liked him so much.

When I said that it was rude and that he didn't know me, he said that he is just honest and that most people wouldn't tell me that.

I knew that I wasn't exactly talking much that day but I talk easily with everybody else. It would have been different if he was trying to help. But no, he was just being condescending. It's one thing if you hear it from someone. It another if you hear it from a guy you have a crush on. I didn't expect him to be an asshole. I still wonder if it's ok for someone to say that to someone who's being nervous.
