What’s the most fucked up thing you’ve seen someone do at work and still not get fired?

I had a shift lead who at some point started clocking in and going to sit with her friends in housekeeping for 8 hours, clocking out on overtime, going home. Daily. And a supervisor who didn't supervise, direct, delegate, coordinate, or leave his office or show up to work for major events unless his boss was there, and left early every day. Continued for 8 or 9 months with me, one other person (who was fired and replaced every few months because they were about to quit), and one shift lead essentially running everything. The work load was absurd. Kept bringing it up. I got let go "based on feedback for other departments" which directly contradicts all feedback I heard from other departments up to at least 10 months prior.

The chair warmer and invisible lead are still there, no one else I knew is. Welcome to the Silicon Valley.
