What’s a small act of kindness you were once shown, that you’ll never forget?

my dad went to prison. my mom lost her house due to this, and was moving 6 hours away with my little brothers into my grandparents house. It was the summer before my senior year in high school and i felt hopeless.

I was frantically looking for somewhere to move with my dog as a 17 yr old who just wanted to finish high school with my class (it was my only sense of stability at that point... lots of issues w/ my family. )

my old best friend always told me, for a couple years leading up to the fall out, don’t worry we’ll always have room for you and i’ll never let you be left alone. she kept her word and her mom let me move into their basement with only 24 hours notice. i’ll never forget her.
