What’s up fellow Texans I’m here visiting for the weekend from Denver and I must say I’m loving the city! What else is there to do in Houston ?? I’m by the doubletree hotel in greenway plaza

Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and virtually all the bars and restaurants will have something going on. We are going to grab some fajitas to-go from nearby El Tiempo and take them to Levy Park, just a few blocks from your hotel, for a lunch picnic with some Mexican beers, horchata, sopapillas, and a watermelon spiked with tequila.

After noon, we will probably nap, but the Miller Outdoor Theater has a free Cinco de Mayo performance with Mariachi Los Camperos, Lupillo Rivera, and local ballet folklorico groups. We'll pack up some fruit and beverages, a blanket and some bug repellent, and head that way around 7pm for a good spot on the hill for their 8pm start time.

It's supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow.
