What’s your favourite song lyric and why?

Airbag by Radiohead — the entire song

I was in what honestly should have been a fatal car crash. I’ve lost friends and family members to car accidents. Or seen them rendered paralyzed by one. Yet I, for whatever reason, got extremely lucky.

In a fast, German car - I’m amazed that I survived. An airbag saved my life.

I still have no clue what a “jack knifed juggernaut” is, but I too was in a fast German car. I’m still amazed that I survived. I often have mixed feelings about it all, still.

This song really helped me cope with those feelings. The lingering guilt. All the pondering. Always wondering... Why me?

(Chorus) An interstellar burst! I’m back to save the universe.

After living through such an experience, I feel like the chorus has to be an allusion to that feeling of guilt (ie survivor’s remorse?)... in a sarcastic sense. As if ’I only survived because I’m destined to become a superhero’ or ’now I’m obligated to save the world!’.

Yeah, right.

In a neon sign, scrolling up and down.

I always thought this referred to the speedometer/tachometer; a neon-sign-post, if you will.

**tldr**

It’s an awesome, melodic reminder about my life, not to dwell on the past or question it, and to wear my seatbelt.
