What is some real shit that we all need to be aware of right now, but no one is talking about?

Have you ever stepped foot on a college campus?

I haven't personally had any problems because I'm white, but I literally got into an argument with a girl the other day because she said she hates men and I was annoyed by that, since I think it's wrong to blanket hate an entire group of people based on a trait they have no control over. I called her out on it, saying I think it's a fucked up thing to hear from a girl who always complains about sexism. She told me it's "impossible to be sexist towards men" and asked why I, as a woman, was defending men.

These types of people are commonplace. I don't think they're as common as Reddit and 4chan make out, but I'd say they make up at least 5% of my campus (art/design school, very liberal). Sure, that's a small percentage. But these are often the most vocal people on campus, so they often end up making up the majority of student teams and things like our school magazine etc.

I think the fact that posters saying "It's okay to be white" and nothing more caused outcry over racism of all things says a lot about our society.

Sure, whatever, black people and women have it worse. But saying that this isn't a problem at all is straight up denial. A lot of these people mean well, they're just misinformed. For example, a student in one of my classes received negative feedback on her work due to the cultural appropriation of drawing in an anime style. She's korean. She grew up on that style. Which was invented in the 1950's and has less cultural significance than say, renaissance style, something I've used before and received 0 negative feedback for, despite not being of Italian descent.
