What is something simple most people do incorrectly?

[–]eric22vhs 370 points 10 hours ago  I wouldn't say most people, but the fact that even one in fifty or so people just don't use turn signals baffles me... Worse, when they don't use turn signals for changing lanes on the highway... That's even worse than not using them to slow down and make a turn. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]WeWillRiseAgainst 195 points 10 hours ago  50% don't use signals to change lanes. 25% don't signal turns. I drive 1000 miles a week and I hate it! permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]eric22vhs 115 points 10 hours ago  That's insane. Turn signals to change lanes not only make it infinitely safer to do so, you can change lanes way more efficiently if the car in the next lane realizes what you're doing. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Thehealeroftri 209 points 9 hours ago  Ever since I first started to drive I have the habit of using them even when they're not necessary at all. I used to turn into my driveway at 3 AM with no cars around and still use my signals. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]shauntp 141 points 8 hours ago  I'm the same. It's good habit forming, people who refuse to do things "because they're unnecessary" develop this awful habit of thinking they can determine that. What they don't see is the person standing 20m in the dark up the street who doesn't know if he can cross or not because you don't have a flicker on. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Phallic 20 points 6 hours ago  Exactly. Or, when I'm on my bike, I often find people not bothering to use their signals because they're "near home" and they can't see any other cars around. It's just reason number 500 to assume that every motorist is actually trying their best to kill you. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]iBeenie 5 points 2 hours ago  people who refuse to do things "because they're unnecessary" develop this awful habit of thinking they can determine that. I couldn't agree more. It's not just about forming the habit, but just on the off chance that someone is nearby that you don't see; it's better to be safe than sorry. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]beg4peg 4 points 5 hours ago  Then it's always the victim's fault somehow. Bro he came outta nowhere I didn't even see him. Yeah because you weren't fucking paying attention you fuck. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]cologol18 3 points 5 hours ago  Exactly, plus its better to get in the habit of using them constantly rather than sporadically and forgetting sometimes when its important. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]icantthinkofacoolone 2 points an hour ago  That's me when I'm trying to cross the street and the driver decides not to turn on their turn signal while they are turning...like why would you even do that? I'm trying to figure out whether i can cross or not, and also trying not to get in your way nor an accident..like come on.. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]mwproductions 6 points 7 hours ago  And if, for some reason, I forget to use them, it feels totally weird. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Kittykathax 3 points 6 hours ago  That's actually a great thing to do. I do the same, and it's become second nature to put my turn signal on whenever I make a turn, traffic or no traffic. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Saint-Peer 3 points 5 hours ago  Good habit, very much necessary even of it seems like no cars around. Especially at night for pedestrians. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]ran4sh 2 points 6 hours ago  That's actually a good habit because in some places there are scummy cops who will keep their lights off, watching for people who fail to signal turns (and other minor violations) and write tickets for the purpose of generating revenue permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]littleocelot20 2 points 4 hours ago  I use them to turn into my garage from the driveway. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]thehumangenius23 0 points 3 hours ago  uses turn signal at 3am into driveway ...dude, you're a stoner. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]_jakeyy 2 points 3 hours ago  Sometimes I accidentally signal before a big curve in the road out of reflex... permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]skrompy 1 point 2 hours ago  You are not alone on this one. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Velln 1 point 3 hours ago  Driveway is where I draw the line, unless there's someone riding your ass. But if that happens you just let them pass and find out where they live in the neighborhood. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]GDogg007 1 point an hour ago  I live in the country on a dirt road and do this. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]SaltyTaintJuice -10 points 8 hours ago  I purposefully go out of my way to not use them. I check all around to make sure there's not a cop so I don't get pulled over for not signaling. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]fluoZor 4 points 8 hours ago  Thug life. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Phycoz 2 points 6 hours ago  Wow, you sound really cool, can I hang out with you. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]SaltyTaintJuice -1 points 3 hours ago  if you're a cocksucker permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply load more comments (11 replies) [–]Tulki 53 points 8 hours ago  But you don't understand... I get excited when I see someone actually use them. I get maybe 1 in 3 that do use them. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]eric22vhs 3 points 8 hours ago  Might be more than that... I mostly only drove during work commute hours for the last couple of years. Especially during morning commutes, most of the people on the road aren't so bad. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]AndrewFlash 3 points 8 hours ago  Fair enough. I live in a college town, so that probably explains my numbers. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]eric22vhs 2 points 8 hours ago  That'll do it. There definitely seems to be a huge correlation between age or maturity and how somebody drives. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]blueangora 0 points 3 hours ago  Not sure if you realize but 1 in 50 is less than 1 in 3. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]ThirdFloorGreg 2 points 2 hours ago  you are comparing the wrong numbers. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]dakitticat [score hidden] 27 minutes ago  The numbers are stated differently. The first is people who DON'T use turn signals, while the second is people who DO. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply load more comments (30 replies) load more comments (38 replies)

Spent 10 hours on the road today. SLOWER TRAFFIC TO THE RIGHT. IF YOU ARE NOT ACTIVELY PASSING SOMEONE GET YOUR FUCK FUCKING ASS TO THE RIGHT. I don't care if you might have to change lanes every five minutes or so, there is no need for a 10 lane highway here for decent traffic flow.
