The funny thing about Australia and Canada is they had racist laws. Like the "White Australia Policy". Canada had a Prime Minister who literally wrote his PhD in White Nationalism. They even turned away boats full of Jews and refugees during WW2.

My guess the culture shift started from deterioration of race relations in the 1960s. So the "model minority" stereotype got invented and then spread throughout the English speaking world. Aka that people wanted Chinese and Asian immigrants only if as a counterweight to minorities they didn't like Black (USA), Native (Canada), Aborigine (Australian), Pacific Islander (New Zealand).

If they can do a 180 then so can Georgia someday.
