What is the worst case of "rich kid syndrome" that you have ever witnessed?

Every single one of my clients. My job deals with booking vacations, setting their tee times, beach cabanas, spa appointments, things of that nature.

A lot of the people I deal with have rich kid syndrome that actually causes them to not accept reality.

For example, golf courses often have to close for maintenance. They need to be aerated, reseeded, the greens need to be punched. Avid golfers know this; but my clients will throw a tantrum if their course is being maintained, and is not in playable condition. They know the course is being renovated, but they can't accept the reality.

Or the woman I dealt with recently. She claimed "her stylist" said she wouldn't be out of town, demanding I book her hair appointment. Guess what lady, she is out of town. Or maybe she's sick or had a family emergency that is more important than your hair. But because I did not physically go out of my way to drag the stylist onto the premises to color her hair, she's miserable. She called me again yesterday saying "I've been waiting for your call to let me know when X is available." As I said to you a million times ma'am, she will not be here until Wednesday. "Okay: well I know she'll be back beforehand. So I await your call back." Once again, my clients do not accept reality.

Hotel is sold out. "That can't be. It's slow season." Believe it, it's sold out. "What's going on there?" None of your business. "You have rooms. Don't lie to me." Once again, my clients do not accept reality.

I receive a call from a client I have never spoken to, claiming that she is a regular client, refuses to give me her name and demands that I recognize her by her voice. I told her I need her name in order to proceed. She screams and starts crying, calling me a sick person. Complained to corporate about me, stating that I did recognize her, but I pretended not to, because I am a vengeful person. Once again, my clients do not accept reality.

Every single day.
