Yeah. I moved far away from them shortly after I confronted them and other things went down(incidentally I moved about 4 hours away from the place we had fled). I was able to because a college far away wanted me and I took the escape, and then just stuck around the area after I graduated. I remain in minimal contact with them. I went NC with my dad when I first moved away. First time I visited after my first year of college, he tried to buy back my love with booze and essentially forced shots on me with his new girlfriend. I then turned down pizza he offered and it enraged him, then they both belittled me and called me a slut for living with a guy at college. I was pretty messed up for some years in college. Time went by and I guess he got his shit together and we eventually went back to speaking terms. I have a kind of a professional relationship with my parents, is how I look at it and it’s best that way.
