What was your highschool experience like?

My high school experience was alright for the most part. I didn't dislike it, and I found it rather fun. However, there is something my friends did in high school that we will never forget.

Our high school had off-campus lunch because it was located near a lot of fast food places and other restaurants. The high school's rules started to get stricter about the off-campus rules the halfway point of my freshman year. They implemented these tests called ACES that you would have to take in every major class every quarter like math, english etc and if you passed all of them, you would get a colored sticker on your ID with 4 digit numbers to show the security guards at the gates to let you leave for off-campus lunch. If you failed an ACES test, you couldn't leave and had to stay on campus which nobody wanted to do.

Me, being the unlucky person I am, would always fail an ACES test by just a few points so I couldn't leave. My friends and I started coming up with the idea of making fake stickers to put on our IDs. We would have a Senior who was an aid for the front office find out what the color of the next sticker would be so we could make them and that's what we did. We made the stickers and started handing them out and a bunch of people were coming to us to get stickers and we did this without getting caught all the way until the later half of our Junior year.

We eventually got caught because we accidentally made a color of one of the stickers a little bit too dark than the actual one but figured we wouldn't get in trouble since we've gone this long without being caught. Well we got our IDs taken away, stickers torn off, got referrals sent home to our parents, had to spend the rest of the day in ISR (In-School Retention) and couldn't get an actual sticker if we passed our ACES tests. It was pretty funny to me actually because the security guards and some teachers saw us in there and were shocked. This put the school on a higher alert and started cracking down on fake stickers. Other people made their own and some of them ended up getting caught and got the same punishment we received.

Senior year came and since we were seniors, they don't need stickers on their IDs to leave so we didn't make anymore ever again. That took away some of the thrill and excitement and I kinda missed that to be honest. We had our fun for a few years and now we couldn't anymore.

I still have my IDs, the ones that didn't get taken away, with some of the fake stickers we made somewhere in my room.
