What is your most controversial movie opinion?

Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have a gigantic major plot hole.. The story is almost always, we have to get from point a to point b. But a few times throughout the franchise, Gandalf shows that he's capable of summoning large ridable hawks. For some reason, these hawks are only ever called upon in extreme scenarios. And they never take anyone all the way to point b, which was really odd when they decided to land several many miles away from the objective that they could see on the horizon. Why did none of the characters point out this huge fallacy? It's hard to ignore. The entire first film could've been Frodo simply getting on a bird and flying the ring to mount doom. Would've saved them a lot of heartache too.
