What was your "Oh shit my life is over my parents are gonna kill me" moment you had as a child/teen?

TL;DR: Caused a fire in my kitchen that required a full remodel of it plus cleaning smoke damage that put us up with my aunt and uncle for a few months, parents were just glad I was okay.

When I was like, 16, I thought it'd be a great idea to cook up some French fries in oil using one of those turbo cooker pans, circa 2006.May have been an okay idea to use responsibly, but that is not what I did.

My girlfriend at the time and I were having some stupid bullshit argument over MSN messenger, and my bedroom was in the basement, me being a dumb teenager completely forgot about my fries. So I go upstairs at one point to see there's just smoke all over the place. Fun. Gun it over into the kitchen to see flames over the pan going up a couple feet to the ceiling. I misplaced my cell phone in my panic and couldn't get the fire extinguisher we had working, so I ran to the neighbors to call 911 while the friend I was hanging out with at the time carried in buckets of water from the pool. Really stupid idea, but it worked well enough.

My parents were out shopping so I gave them a call. They ended up not being upset with me at all, and were just grateful that I was safe and the house was okay. Was it one of the single most moronic ideas ever? Oh absolutely. I try to make up for it by being overly cautious about most things now and by not being an idiot teenager. That second part really helps.
