Depends. I’ve ended a friendship with someone who liked me because they liked me. Basically, he did the typical thing of “hey, can I be honest?” and I said “sure”. He told me he liked me and I told him I didn’t feel the same way. He knew I was a lesbian at the time too (even called me “lesbo” which I hated). I said I would still be friends with him and a week later we go on a hike together. We’re on this hike and he’s really touchy with me and at one point we stop and he’s like “didn’t you always say you wanted to kiss in a beautiful place like this?“ (no i did not) very clearly waiting for a signal so he could kiss me. I think it’s ok in cases like that to end a friendship. If it makes you deeply uncomfortable or if someone is super pushy despite being told no, then yes.

I’ve had other friends confess to me & Ive stayed friends with them because they accepted it and were polite about it.
