What's the most unsettling declassified information available to us today?

I think you may have replied to the wrong comment? I was just being incredulous.

Still, for anyone else;
Operation Northwood was dated 3/13/1962.

Kennedy was assassinated 11/22/1963.

A second reported attack on the uss Maddox was falsified 8/4/1964 which led to open warfare in Vietnam. This is after the first attack was the uss Maddox firing first on three Vietnam torpedo boats even though Johnson's administration claimed the opposite.

Fun fact, the Vietnam war and the war in Afghanistan are the two longest wars the US has been involved in.
