What's something people need to stop romanticising?

Stalking is something that is not taken seriously by law enforcement, a women I was friends with through work was murdered by her stalker, she reported him to police about his stalking and had a restraining order put against him, the police missed several chances to warn her of his intentions, he had left a bag of weapons near where he killed her which was handed in to police by someone who found them, she died mere weeks after this discovery of the weapons, because of their failure to act she's dead and so is the piece of shit that killed her (he killed himself after killing her). I knew them both fairly well and the impact is still felt in my local area, I always had a bad feeling about him and being proven right made it hurt. If police forces actually took stalking serious, not only would my friend have been potentially alive but also many other women that fall victim to a stalker.
