Not encounter, but rather noises. My neighbor is a high school teacher by day, and a paranormal doctor by night. This is Southeast Asia so it's not really that weird to have one of those 'professionals' in every 10 hamlet. So one night around 1:30 AM, I was on my laptop when I heard a male screaming in agony, and it came from my neighbor's house. Later I learned that the guy screaming was my old friend that used to hang out in our house when we were high schoolers (but we went to different schools). Sadly he died not too long after that from his strange condition.

It was alleged that he had been a target of black magic initiated by a jealous coworker. I know nothing else about this part.

To add a bit detail about my friend, I knew not too much about him other than he's really smart and very religious. You know that kind of young Asian guy who has diplomatic approach to academic and career achievements, and confident about his goals, very knowledgeable but also understands all kinds of humor. He used to love badminton and would play every weekend with anyone. If he was in his usual self, I bet he wouldn't choose such approach to his condition. But people said he was losing his mind and thus his ability to make his own decision.
