What's the worst boss you've ever had?

In college, I worked at a bakery during the summer. This was the same bakery I worked at in high school, but the original owners (a great but crazy Italian couple that I loved) sold the bakery to two asshats. I worked off the books at 12 an hour, about 25 hours a week. I was making bank and home by noon each day, plenty of time to go out and have fun. The perfect summer job. Except for G.

The male half of the couple, G was a complete douche. Whip cream cracks on a cake if the cake is older than a few days. Normally, we'd toss those cakes (or take them home to grandma). Not after G bought the place. G would just take the cake in the back, scrape off the old whip cream and replace it with new whip cream. It got to the point where half my day was spent dealing with people bringing back old cakes that were moldy. Not cool. I would try and subtly sway people from buying certain cakes because I knew what was fresh and what was nasty. People were paying close to 15 dollars for this shit, and they were not getting what they deserved in return.

And G had a habbit of such raunchy sexual harassment that I won't even repeat half of it here. One day, near the end of the summer, I was carrying a tray of apple turnovers to the front of the store (they're heavy as hell!) and busting ass during the rush. Of course, G is following after me going 'gimme a kiss' like he always did. So I had enough. I slammed the tray on the counter, and screamed, in a store full of people: 'I can't kiss you, my girlfriend would get mad at me!'

I didn't have a girlfriend. Or a boyfriend at the time. I was just tired of his shit. Half the store stared at me in shock, this quiet counter girl that was always so nice screaming at her boss, and the other half realized what it was, I think: a grown ass man hitting on a twenty year old.

I hoped that would have stopped the harassment. It did not. The next day, G came over to me and said: 'I was thinking. It doesn't matter if you're dating a girl as long as they have one of these' and pointed to his fucking tongue.

I quit on the spot. I didn't have the kind of mother that took kindly to me not working. When I told her what happened, I had to stop her from going in the store and kicking his ass herself.

Less than two years later, this bakery that had been in town for 25+ years and was a staple of the community was closed. Out of business. Good. Fuck G.
