What's your "accidental racist" moment?

I was working the register at a gas station.

The owner was doing interviews that day for a service advisor position in the car wash. Interviews were supposed to last from about noon to 3, and my job was to inform him when the people arrived. Last interview was scheduled for 2:30. Around 2:50ish the owner told me, as the last interviewee was leaving, "well, we found our next service advisor". Great. Interviews are done, I can finally leave the register to finish my other daily tasks.

At about 3:20pm a black gentleman walks in and asks for my boss. He had been getting ready to leave, so I said sure, hang on, but apparently my confused expression was telling.

He went on a rant to my boss because apparently I'm a huge racist piece of shit for giving him an inquisitive look when he asked for him. So to recap, I'm racist because I'm confused about the black dude showing up AT LEAST 20 minutes late to an interview, wearing street clothes (untucked tall tee that hung past his knees). Let's just forget for a moment that I was literally the only white person on shift that day.

The owner seemed annoyed by the entire interaction.
