One day we get a call saying my 85 year old grandfather was ill and in the hospital so my dad flew back home the next day to take care of him. That night I begin getting stomach pains which soon got really bad. Turned out it was appendicitis and by the time they did surgery it had already ruptured so I was hospitalized for a week and took nearly a month to completely recover.

Since my dad was away my mom had to deal with me being in the hospital all by herself. Then my dad gets shingles and he spends the next few weeks in agonizing pain, all the while dealing with my grandfather being sick too. It was a pretty rough two weeks for my family.
