What's your catfish story?

I had a friend called Mary. I had another friend called Sally. One day, Mary gave us the username of her cousin so we could talk to him online. She was super close with her cousin and wanted us to become friends with him. Sally developed feelings for the cousin. The cousin was a bit of a babe, according to Sally. He played in a band and wore tight jeans and all of that other shit that makes girls go a little insane. For 2 years, we spoke with the cousin. I was friends with him. Sally was more than friends with him. Leading her on with the promise that they would meet, the cousin made Sally his girlfriend. His online girlfriend. Sally was pretty okay with this because, again, she believed they would meet. They spent all of their time talking and sending love hearts and texts and shit. Sally sent the first photo. Just a quick mirror shot of her without a shirt on. It didn't take her long to ditch the bra. The bra was on the ground for less than a minute before the underwear came off too. Sally became somewhat addicted to sending naked photos of herself to the cousin. He would send some back, but she was the giver in the relationship. I became worried. Why hadn't we met this guy? What was the deal? When Sally told me that they had never had a phone conversation, I immediately came to the conclusion that some shit was up and it wasn't going to end well. Another close fried and I teamed up to solve the mystery of just who the fuck the cousin was. We gathered clues like it was our damn job. And soon we found out something that you have probably known from the beginning - the cousin was Mary. And that's how we found out that Mary was gay, and was in love with Sally. She expertly strung us along with her black magic type fuckery and it resulted in a story that is slightly unbelievable. However, I can assure you that this definitely happened.

Why did it take us so long to figure it out? We were young. We didn't believe that our friend could be capable of something like that. We didn't know anyone could be capable of something like that. But they are. And Mary was. And I have never seen somebody fall apart like I saw Sally fall apart when we told her. Her face was like a piece of paper that had been torn apart, soaked in water and then taped back together. It was hard to see where the disgust ended and the confusion began. She had been betrayed in the most sickening way.

We aren't friends with Mary anymore. Fuck you, Mary.
