When autistic people “smell fear” they get calm….? *my life makes so much sense now*

This is me to a strong degree, I was always the cool head. Walking in a disaster, head on a swivel, calm as can be. As a child I remember clearly grabbing the steering whell to zip the car out of danger while my mother was gunning it in a panic.

In a shooting across the street, I dropped to the best angle, prone, and crawled closer and used my big knife in my bag to spot around my cover. Everyone else was screaming and running into one another, unsure of where the threat was.

Hiking in texas my group was approached by a big cat and I calmly walked toward it and scared it off with a big stick and yelling and stomping and hissing and spitting... everyone else was literally whimpering and shaking, frozen in panic.

our circuits fire differently and it doesnt make us less, in many cases it makes us strong. It makes us REAL humans.
