You should detach your love for a fictional series from the creator if you feel it's causing issues. A work of art is much more than whoever technically made it. You love it because of your personal experience with it and the thought and feelings and connection you had with the story and the characters, who cares about the random person that happened to write down the words? Love it for your own reasons and not anyone else's. Nobody else, including the creators, should dictate what you love or how you choose to love it. I've gone through this a lot when I realize the makers of things I loved were idiots that said really thoughtless things I didn't like. The fiction is your experience to see however you want. Belongs to you and no one else.
