Power tripping teachers are very real.

I was in an AP Literature class my senior year and we were reading 1984. As a nerdy teenager with a particular interest for dystopian stories, it was my fifth or sixth time reading it. So I was just sitting and listening to the lecture and suddenly the teacher stops mid sentence to ask me why I wasn't taking notes. I said I didn't need to. She said "I find it very hard to believe that anyone in this class would be so extraordinary that they wouldn't need to take notes." I was appalled. "THIS is an AP class." I said, "We ARE the extraordinary students. The top 3 students in this graduating class are in this room right now."

Clearly I'm still bitter.

I don't know if people are just like that, or if the job makes them that way. Or life.
