When a black man called me a sl*t, a ho, etc, why did it only get mild reactions from the people around us but they blew up when I called him the N word in response?

And the people questioning her actions when they suddenly stepped in because she leveled the N word at him, are probably just fair weather allies against racism anyway. Since they keep their heads down and don't say anything when it's a dude harassing and calling a woman a slut. They got your back when it's in solidarity against a woman who is already being harassed. But they'll probably be turning a blind eye when it's your white boss who is being racist.

It seems like a lot of people let some of their true colors show that day. OP at least knows what she did wasnt okay. I doubt the people in the store have done much more than pat themselves on the back.
