I did a huge yawn last night. Squeezed a couple out.

Real ones, though?

Last week. My best friend asked me for help with something financial and I wasn't able to give her that help.

We served together and have always promised each other any help that was asked would be given if it were in our power. At this time, the help she needed was beyond what I could give. It broke my heart to tell her that.

She took it very well, though, and has since got the help elsewhere.

In retrospect it wasn't actually that big a deal, but I felt I'd let someone down to whom I literally owe my life.

We talked about it after and she actually seemed happy that I hadn't been able to help, as though she'd been uncomfortable asking and hadn't wanted that between us. I suspect she might have been 'persuaded' to ask me by her OH.

We texted each other later and I reminded her that, even though I hadn't been able to help with that, I'd still stop a bullet for her in a heartbeat. She replied with simply 'ditto' and a love heart.

That made me cry a couple of tears.
