Where are UofT women getting their hair cut?

Also recommend Aveda, for girls. NOT for guys, unless it's special event, then pay 200 for a top notch professional.

Grad student who did mine divulged that she mostly practiced on girls. Pretty sure she had no idea what to do with my hair at all as every step was first instructed by the educator, who is very good. I'm probably her first.

Unfortunately...

  • picked wrong size clipper (too short)
  • clipped hair wrong, too low (thank you educator for coming by)
  • accidentally picked an EVEN SHORTER clipper and made a hole in my hair
  • had to go to EVEN SHORTER clipper to fade off and trim what's left of the side of my poor head (at this point, found the bag with longer clippers, such as the size 4 I asked for)
  • wore long sleeves without rolling sleeves up getting my hair all over her sleeves and realized at 1 hour mark, took long sleeves off

* dabbed at my hair with clipper like doing girl makeup (thank you educator for coming by to catch that, and the barber for saving my hairline).

  • the other mistakes (all male hair related) were insignificant.

  • all the girls getting their hair cut seem to have expert treatment and stylists who knows what they were doing.

  • if you are a guy, MUST go with a full head of hair, or you may end up bald, at least on the sides. The longer the hair, the more mistakes to recover from.

Aveda needs to provide their students more practice on doing guy hair. Hair work for girls looked fabulous to me from the many that came and went while I was there. Perhaps a volunteer program for free haircut for guys will give the students there the needed practice.
