Which persistent misconception/myth annoys you the most?

I am going to bombard you with some unsolicited information. Take a deep breath.

On some days, when I can eat, 1000 to 1200 calories a day. On days I am bad 500 to 900. On really bad days 0 to 300. Most of my calories on bad days are liquid. I do keep a food journal.

My bowel motility can be very slow. I am not completely sedentary. I can walk it is just painful which is stressful. Stress tends to stop my digestion. I have been told my body is in flight or fight mode when I excercise which is why digestion stops. I want to excercise I am just terrified of the stomach issues.

When my issues flare it is like I am burping up the foulest shit you can imagine, like rotten eggs but worse. I also have bile reflux etc. The flares are a nightmare. Then I start cramping and it feels like labor pains. I will have diarrhea and the smell is the same as my burps. I will vomit. Sometimes just liquid other times food I have eaten days ago. I will vomit until my esophagus bleeds. Its like having the stomach flu 2 or three times a month.

I have had a colonoscopy it was clear. Endoscopy, they saw nothing but said gerd. No parasites. Honestly I am beside myself.

I have cried to my doctors and they all say my body is hording calories.

Now I have issues with food. Eating is like russian roulette. Anything high fiber will get me. Meats of any kind are a crap shoot. Too much sugar is a sure fire way to a flare. Yogurt... Yeah I throw that up. Probiotics help sometimes but other times not.

I am vitamin d deficent take 100,000 units a week and it is going up slowly. My calcium was a little high and my parathyroid hormones are up in the 300 range.

Honestly, I think this is something hormonal, my doctors just look at me and go hmmmmmmmmmm I have changed them looking for answers. I have hope my endocrinologist can help but the fact he said, starvation mode is upsetting.
