[WP] A game of hide and go seek gone wrong.

"Marry me." Kylie blinked. It was an order. Not a request, but an order it came out as. Definitely not a question either, a command. Kylie struggled to not giggle at her boyfriends handsome, yet flustered face, but couldn't help to smile a wide grin that lit up her pale face towards him. "Oh Daniel, what will I do with you?"

Daniel sighed, and looked away from her smouldering eyes and focused on her nose on her pale, pretty face. His grip on her hand tightened slightly, and all focus was back onto her eyes again, and with intent on matching her intense stare Daniel exclaimed irritably. "Kylie."

The look on his face amused Kylie as she couldn't hold back her giggle this time. "You're so adorable. Even when you're annoyed." She flashed him a smile as his eyes narrowed in annoyance.

"Kylie." Daniel repeated, his tone clearly showing off his annoyance. Couldn't she understand the seriousness of the situation? Daniel's eyes narrowed as he glared towards her as if he was half pleading half threatening her to say what he has longed to hear.

"Why?" Asked Kylie playfully. Instantly Daniel's eyes narrowed further more.

"Why not?" Daniel forced out in between clenched teeth, his hold on her hand tightening, pulling her towards him. Kylie flashed him a wide grin once again.

"Well..." She shook off his hand, and looked towards her watch he had gifted her for their two year anniversary. "This is a pretty serious life choice we're making. We're no longer kids Daniel, I guess before I said yes... I would like to play one last game. Do you accept my challenge?"

He glared at her dangerously, before his eyes softened. "Fine." Daniel sighed out. Brows raised. "What game though? How is this going to be a challenge?" The woman herself, in his eyes was the biggest challenge he ever faced, he could play along with her games to please her.

"Live your day out without me." Kylie checked her watch on her hand before she started to nervously twirl her hair. Twirling her hair was her nervous habit he knew, but with how annoyed he was with the situation he didn't take notice.

"That's bullshit, that's not even a game Kylie. That's just annoying, you know I love you and want to marry you. This means spending the rest of my life with you, and now you want to spend a day without me? Why?"

"One day. 24 hours. 720 minutes. That's all, of no communication. Just go along it Daniel ! One last game I promise and I'll stop annoying you, I can tell you're annoyed with me but just go along with it okay?" Let's say it's a game of ....Hide and go seek! It was my favourite game growing up and now we're doing grown up things like getting engaged? I just want one more bit of my childhood before I'm an adult. Come find me after, but when you do I promise I'll marry you if you can do it." She smiled one her secret little smiles just for him.

He looked at her with a confused expression. "Why are you doing this?" He asked suspiciously.

"Just go along with it ! Come on, I'm late for work! You know I can't be late, I work in a bloody hospital." She said and she looked towards her watch one more time. "I always did love this watch you gave me, this was one of the best days of my life. Thank you. Now, now, don't be a chicken and just play along!"

He looked into her eyes once more, he couldn't read them but knew she was up to something. "Fine then, in 24 hours we will be engaged okay?"

She broke their locked gazes and stared towards the ground for a while. Looking up back into his eyes finally, she promised "Yes... if you can find me"

The day was strange, Daniel was so used to Kylie being integrated into his life.

Woke up alone. Didn't do his daily good morning call. Ate breakfast alone. Got ready for work alone. Didn't stop by her workplace for lunch, ate alone. Worked out alone. Dinner for one. Couldn't fall asleep easily knowing he didn't wish her goodnight.

But Daniel kept on enduring this day, as tomorrow he will finally sleep easy knowing he will be sleeping next to this annoying woman who finally agreed to marry him.

One day later.

Daniel woke up and jolted out of bed. It was 6:54 AM. He was up an hour earlier than usual. He smirked, "I guess I did miss her." he thought to himself as he started getting ready for breakfast. He will never admit it, but even within a day he found himself missing her childish antics and annoying habits.

Daniel drove over to her house. He frowned and looked at the sight in front of him in confusion. There was way too many people just standing outside, not just people, but friends. He walked over. "What's going on over here?"

A frown formed as his face as he saw everyone's watery eyes and pale faces. "Can someone tell me what's fucking going on?"

Daniel searched through the crowd and found Marie, finally a familiar face who he was comfortable talking too. Daniel always had a difficulty talking to anyone who wasn't Kylie. "What's happening? Why are you all here and looking so upset? Where's Kylie?"

"...."

"Okay come on, someone has to tell me what's going on? Did Kylie get you all in on this ridiculous game of hide and go seek? This is getting ridiculous." he was said impatiently.

"Kylie said you should go to her workplace." Marie choked out.

Daniel frowned. "Alright then."

When he arrived at her work, he was already growing more and more annoyed at this situation. He missed her, and now she was sending him on this wild run around. The hospital was a big place and god knows how many women actually worked in here."

He walked up to the front desk. "May I please visit Kylie's office? Tell her it's her fiancee coming to visit her." The woman paled at his statement and quietly said "The door is unlocked."

When he entered the room, he was suprised as while Kylie wasn't present, he was not alone. "Dr.Layng.. Suprise to see you here. Where's Kylie? Are you in on this game too?" he asked.

Dr.Layng looked at him with sad eyes. He couldn't find the words to express what he wanted to say, so he handed a piece of paper over to Daniel silently.

"Daniel I'm really sorry I annoyed you all this time, and I'm sorry but this will be the last annoyance I give to you. But this wasn't just a game of hide and go seek. You won't be able to find me. You still win though from completing all of yesterday with out me, Will you be able to do it again everyday from now on?"

"Daniel, I'm really sorry. But Kylie agreed to stop her treatment months ago. Her time was up. She passed away 7 hours ago today. I'm so sorry."
