[WP]In a world where whoever commits murder is not punished, but the most significant family member that is alive. You are a mother and you hear the words,"I'm gonna kill him." come out of your son's mouth.

"Do it, Manuel." I said quietly.

My daughter looked at me in shock.

"Mom, no! Manuel, no. Let the police handle it."

Manuel looked at her coldly. "Have you not been present the last two years? The police can't do shit for the kind of crazy dad is. You want him to watch you on secret camera in your bathroom again? Who knows how many more of those mini cameras are still in the house, and the police won't do shit."

I was firm. "We know he's around our house every day. I'll go to jail for this. It would be worth it to know that you two would finally be free." My daughter didn't like it, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Manuel caught my insane ex husband peering in my daughter's bedroom window around 3 in the morning. I heard my ex husband scream after the first sledgehammer blow, but after that it was eerily silent.

Anna and I stayed inside - she in her bedroom and me in mine. Around 10 AM Manuel came back in covered in dirt.

"It's done." He said. "I buried him in the backyard - I'll build a garden over it tomorrow. Maybe mom won't have to go to jail."

He was already on the run. Who knows where he'd been hiding out all that time. The police never came asking questions. They were probably just glad we stopped calling them and figured my ex husband had skipped town.

I never expected to out survive my children. I guess if I had been thrown in jail I'd have rotted there long after Manuel's accident and Anna's breast cancer.

I am leaving this confession in my last will and testament because Manuel buried my ex husband with my grandfather's wedding band still on his finger. Since gold has become scarce in recent decades, it's worth at least $90,000. I leave this ring to my boyfriend Fred Diaz, who is probably very surprised by all of this.
