[WT!] The Tatami Galaxy

No no no. What I was trying to imply was that there has to be more than a base theme, a lot more, for shows to be considered similar. Like I said before, Steins;Gate would be more apt as a comparison because it makes use of the time travelling plot device just like TTG does, in addition to your base theme. It is aimed at the same target audience and it is set in modern day Japan. It meets all your criteria. Even though I don't like it much.

They are not! :O The similarities you've pointed out are superficial. "The way they focus on said themes"? Please do tell me how these two shows "focus" on said themes in a similar manner Oh wait, they don't.

both anime are specifically supposed to resonate with people who are in or fresh out of college and have gone through any period of depression and/or loneliness, and are becoming cognizant of all the opportunities they've missed in life Wait, wait, wait. Hold on a second. TTG didn't resonate at all with me in regards to the points you stated. What you just described was Welcome to the NHK in a nutshell. TTG was more focused on the time travelling, backstabbing Ozu, getting together with Akashi part etc. It never really dived into the stuff you mentioned and may have perhaps skimmed over those points briefly. (I don't remember much of TTG now)

supposed to relate to Watashi and Satou So you think that if a person can relate to Watashi he has to relate to Satou? Watashi is so bloody different from Satou. How can you even group them together.

Yes. They are not common. And no, I can in no way, name 3 other protagonists similar to Satou or Watashi. Why? Because they are unique.. to everyone else and to each other. It's not the way they tell their stories.. it's the stories themselves that are different.

NHK and TTG are both one of a kind. And I love them. But they don't target the audience for the same reasons nor for the same core themes. Let's just agree to disagree here.
