Not interacting as well does not mean not at all.

Failed to tell us about the rework until patch day

They didn't fail. They made it clear that we wouldn't see the rework until it arrived. This was said several times by Pope and the other devs. Regardless, one example of them only showing a selective few does not sustain to an argument that they are failing to be transparent.

Why the hell would they want the game to just die

Because then they don't have to spend money and resources on supporting it to provide us content and patches for free and can instead put that money and resources on newer and bigger titles like the new AC.

Games are a service

No. Games are a product. The content and patches that we get regularly? Those are the service.

Many of us show support by buying DLC

Completely optional purchases that amount to very little in regards to content. I have not spent a single penny on anything other than the initial purchase of the game and still receive the same updates and content that everyone else does. You do not pay for a service in For Honor.
