I blame the developer culture google created... Google has over 150 discontinued products and is trending upwards each year how many projects they abandon.

Or just look at valve... Their steam broadcasting has been 'beta' for 6 years. And their team of game developers can't create anything.

When the biggest software companies in the world are encouraged to develop "beta" applications that end up going nowhere, its pretty understandable these smaller outfits follow suit.

If you don't want these abandoned projects, we need to go back to the 90's development process, where they need release a Gold Master to manufacturing.
