So here's the back story: The guy I've had a major thing for is moving in with me, and my crazy family for the summer. Our families have been friends for years. They live up in the country and he's moving down to the city to start University. We have been on and off flirting for a few months now and I think both of our families know about it but don't say anything - which makes this entire situation even more awkward. He and I don't know each other super well, but I guess we've both kinda had this underlying crush on each other? My parents own a café near the beach, which they run over the summer, and conveniently they were looking for another employee to help during the busy holiday period. It's a rural beachside town with few places for Uni students on a budget to stay, hence why he is living with us. The stars aligned and here we are - He's moving in in December and working for a couple of months before the first semester begins. Now, my family... they mean well, what can I say? Mum and Dad are loud and crazy, funny, yet a little insane. My brother and I are the most cynical and sarcastic siblings you will ever meet. Endearing? I'm not so sure? It all looks fine, great even on the outside, however I'm having MAJOR anxiety over the fact that I'm just ya average girl, tying to impress her crush. But this is not just ya average first date... THIS IS MOVE IN, MEET THE FAMILY, ALL AT ONCE. We might as well get married and live happily ever after right now! How am I supposed to look good ALL THE TIME? How am I supposed to come across as intelligent, witty and attractive ALL THE TIME? He will be there 24/7, as will I, and I'm having a slight panic attack over the fact that these are extremely unusually awkward circumstances. Right now I feel as though my life is one big cringey rom-com, and I'm the goddamn protagonist! Please, has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Did it work out, or was it a huge fkn disaster?
