You just proved to me that you're clueless. Bitcoin does have a paper trail, it's a completely transparent ledger. You could theoretically pay somebody and watch the coins move from one address to the next until you source it's destination to be Amazon, or a strip club.

And there are certainly more than 100 coins. While most are a copy of Bitcoin, many are not. Ethereum is an expansive coin with insurmountable capabilities, Monero is a completely private and untraceable coin, and the list goes on. "They all fulfill the same niche as Bitcoin" is so grossly incompetent of a view that this conversation isn't worth continuing, for many reasons, but to me, it's mainly your willful disregard of all the cryptographic solutions that have been created and utilized due to the altcoin scene (with special credit to Ethereum, Monero, and ZCash).
