'1984' to be screened by cinemas worldwide in anti-Donald Trump protest

We're living in a mix of both.

Brave new world:

On one hand we are overflowing with so much information that no one could really follow or confirm if true or fake. People end up limiting themselves to whatever source that they already agree with and listen to it blindly. Depression is on the rise so people seek magic pills to feel normal (anti-depressants, Facebook, smartphones, etc).

1984:

On the other hand we have limitless government surveillance. Your fucking phone hears/sees whatever you do and where you are. Huge propaganda machines ("news" agencies) that basically tell you what to think. We are constantly being fed war mongering ideas and fear of anyone who is not us. And due to high unemployment rates corporations and billionaires (the party, since they buy politicians) have basically become gods that we must worship and be thankful that they allow us to be underpaid while they become rich (while this is capitalism, capitalism is supposed to be about free opportunities while in reality we see nepotism and that money makes money which limits social mobility).
