Many many years ago, in the throes of youth, my roommate (and I) was so drunk while driving that he complained that his (prescription) glasses were causing his double vision, so he opened the window and threw them out, and claimed to see perfectly after that.

Omg so the memory is coming back to me now about that night. We had gone to the drive in, and drank a case of 24 beers. (Canada). Then, trying to be as stealthy as possible we quietly set the case of 24 empty beers on the ground beside the car and slowly drove away. We were trying so hard to put as much distance between us and that case of beer it was all we cared about at that moment, me peering out the back window trying to guess how far we were getting from it in the slow moving exit line of cars. But somehow we missed our exit and drove in a circle and somehow drove right through the exact spot we had parked, picking up the empty case and dragging it underneath the car while trying to find the exit. We dragged that case under us all the way to the exit, where we hit a speed bump and the case shattered and 24 bottles came shooting out from under the car, stopping all the cars behind us as we sped away.

In the morning my roommate was looking for his glasses and I told him he threw them out the window.
