What was said is, the fact that a broad spectrum antivirals treats multiple viruses does not make either of those viruses genetically modified from strands of each. Or related to each other.

Just like the fact that broad spectrum antibiotics treat multiple types of bacteria does not mean those viruses are genetically modified from each other. Or related to each other.

It’s an analogy, not an equivocation of viruses with bacteria.
