However, what if you dont have a home church/are not a member of a church... yet? I am considering what to do. I moved to a new area, and there are a couple of churches I am looking at more deeply now. However, none of them I am for sure saying yes to quite yet. Should I still ask the various pastors/elders from the couple of churches for advice/counseling? Is it better to wait until I choose a main church I want to commit to? And should I base the church I pick on whether or not I would be willing to have the men at the church hold me accountable?

One of the churches I enjoy the people there, but there are some things I am not 100% sold on. One is that there are no, maybe very few, men, even women, around my age. This is a factor because I believe that its important to be with people who are closer to your situation in life. And I would prefer at least a couple people with which we can come together and grow. Another thing I am thinking about is getting involved in a different church's ministry/group in addition to commitment to my main church.

I guess I just dont know at what point it is appropriate to ask someone if they would be willing to help you with something like this. If it is fine to just walk up to someone (pastor/elder) that you are just meeting and bringing this on that person. You dont know how well you two relate to each other yet
