At first I felt super bad because I know this year was rough for us all so I can imagine how hurt you can be by someone forgetting your birthday. I thought when I apologised and made an attempt to talk to her then we could've resolved it like adults. I would've explained what was going on at home and made it up to her. She didn't even bother giving me the chance and is still ignoring my last message. I'm not going to beg or grovel.

I tried my best to fix this but this year has been hell and I didn't expect someone close to me to act like this at our age. So you're right, ever since I messaged her, I just left it at that. I have no mental capacity to deal with this any longer. If she chooses to end our friendship over this then so be it. If she decides to come back after a while, I will communicate my grievances on how she handled it.
