27 and working in IT, I love helping people but I find the work itself really dull

Support can be a great place to be in order before move into non-technical (or technical on the sales org side) roles in tech. One question though, what kind of IT? Are you working with developers/businesses or the general public?

I'll plug looking into Customer Success (customer success managers, not just another word for support). Customer Success is a pretty new world so there's pretty decent room for growth.

My role works to decrease account churn by getting the customer to a place with our products where they can be successful in use. That involves walking customers through a multi-month plan, gathering and explaining documentation, identifying potential upsells for the sales team, working with the support team if there are technical blockers, etc. I agree with /u/mtiagz on Lean/Six Sigma/etc.
