I [33M] am not excited about my GF [26F] moving in. We've been dating for 3 years now. I think that signals something bad.

Again I'm sitting here thinking 'ya know, people get married after a year of dating, at least typically move in around that time right? Maybe that's a sign that this isn't right.'

That isn't typical of any relationship. There's no "normal" timeline for any big step, such as moving in together or getting married. My guy and I have been together for over 5 years, and he just moved in with me a little over a year ago. We have no plans to get married, and that's okay.

That said, you're questioning whether you should just settle for what you have, even though you don't seem to be happy for numerous reasons, and you have doubts. Trust your gut. Don't ever settle. That will lead to unhappiness and resentment, and that's no way to spend your life.
