AC not working and poor resolution from the host

Contact the host again through the AirBnB Message system. Let him know once again that the Air Conditioning system is not working, and ask that he have it repaired. You've paid for an air conditioned space... the temporary unit installed as a band-aid is not helping. Then contact AirBnB to let them know about the problem, and ask for their assistance in relocating to suitable accommodations. They're probably not going to be of any help... but the host has 24 hours to resolve any issues.

Start looking for a local hotel, and get ready to pack your bags.

On top of this, we were not met by the host.

This seems to be the direction of AirBnB... Hosts who simply operate Vending Machines with "Smart Locks"

I don't use "Smart Locks" or "Key pads" or "Lock Boxes" I meet my guests in person. But don't dispair.... there will be someone by shortly to chastise me, and let me know that they don't want to have to interact with their host.... they want to just mash buttons and get inside.
