AITA for refusing to pay for her hotel room??

YTA. For almost every state it says “The landlord is required to rent a dwelling that is fit to be lived in. It must have working plumbing, hot water and heating, be structurally sound and have reasonable security, including working and locking doors and windows, and it must be free of pests.”

Hot water IS an essential service. If the hot water is not working, it should have been considered an emergency repair and should have been repaired within 24 hours.

Let’s say your state is one of the very few states that don’t require hot water- you should’ve at-least offered to pay some of her hotel or take some money off her rent for the month.

If I were her, I would take you to court and break my lease early.
