Should they have called you, yes. Although I'm not certain of the circumstances of how early did they find out vs when they told you? Like, did your SIL call and say he passed and is getting buried right then? Maybe they didn't have a chance to, and it just so happened your sisters were there already? It's not too terribly clear.

However, I partially think your reaction was more out of grief and anger that your brother had passed... But your parents are grieving too.

I think your reaction was a little harsh, but like I said, everyone is hurting right now. Hopefully you can find it within yourself to go through your grieving process and reconnect with your parents. If you've had a decent relationship otherwise, you should reconnect when you've had a chance to grieve.
