AITA for telling my friend no invite no gift?

Who cares? He cares. He was a friend who stood by his friend and in the end wasn’t treated as good as others who didn’t do half as good as he did. This isn’t about entitlement and “getting over yourself”, whatever that means. It’s about valuing yourself enough so as not to continue giving people love, short and care when it isn’t reciprocated or even appreciated.

The “friend” was the AH the moment they started begging for gifts on their social media, thinking people owe them something or even hinting that they’re the in position to expect gifts from people they didn’t invite, let alone a friend who stood by them more than others.

Sometimes you do need to compare yourself to others to know where you stand.
